Karen Phillips
Karen “kd” Phillips has always enjoyed drawing and expressing herself through arts,
crafts & photography. She works mainly with oil paints now. She has been painting on and
off for many years.
She drew custom designs for gravestones for a short time and has painted 1 watercolor
that was used for a book cover. Karen believes a painting, like life, holds surprises if you
open your mind to them. She has been studying oil painting with a local artist, Rena
Dillman, at the Hope Art Guild for about 10 months. "I believe paintings, like books, can
touch people's emotions and memories. They make it possible to see and experience
things in our minds and homes that we may otherwise not have the opportunity to
